There are two high schools; Newport Harbor High School and Estanica High School. The school district has three alternative high schools; Back Bay High School, Monte Vista High School and Coastline Early College High School. There are 23 private schools throughout Costa Mesa which serve 3,600 students. Among the many colleges and universities that call Costa Mesa home are Orange Coast College, Coastline Community College, Vanguard University, National University and Whittier Law School.
